As of February 2025, the total investment under the NISA Japan investment program has exceeded 56 trillion yen, according to NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation).
This means the government has reached its target well ahead of the original goal set for 2027. However, the number of NISA investment accounts stood at approximately 25 million as of December last year, still short of the government’s target of 34 million by 2027.
